What I do...
I do not care for what I do. I am a US Coast Guard Marine Inspector. I am not a Coast Guard rescue swimmer so you will never see me on TV. Ok...maybe you might see me in a clip on the "world's Most Dangerous/Dirty Jobs". Not very glamorous. I serve behind the headlines. I do not care for what I do. I go places that most people don't care to even think about. I am often alone. I do not care for what I do. But if you ride a ferry, a charter fishing boat, if hazardous materials float by your riverfront home or school, if you crew a tanker plying the cold waters off Alaska...you care about what I do. I am not a rescue swimmer. I do what I do so you may never have to meet a rescue swimmer. Oh, they are great guys...don't get me wrong. But unless you meet them standing in line at the Piggly Wiggly, your probably better off going through your life without meeting one of them.
I am a Coast Guard Marine Inspector. I am going to use this medium to tell you my story. I am not a rescue swimmer. I will not be on TV. I do not like what I do. I do it because you need me too. Trust me...you do. Stay tuned...
